What are some of the productive ways to spend free time?

  1. Reading - If you are plateauing in life it is likely you don’t know how to grow beyond that point. Learn. The information is out there.
  2. Browse YouTube/Quora/Medium - Not for entertaining content but for content to learn. Search for specific topics you want to know more about and dive deep into one subject.
  3. Go for a Run - Get some blood pumping and do a bit of cardio. Whatever is next on your list for the day will go much smoother.
  4. Planning your Day/Week/Month/Year - A full, intentional day is never a wasted day. The same goes for the week, month and year.
  5. Relaxing - If you do not relax enough in your free time you will find your productive time lacking efficiency. Life is not always about pushing forward; or rather, to push forward you also need to recharge sometimes.
  6. Take an Adventure - Go some place you’ve never gone before, take a new route on your walk or explore a hobby you’ve never tried. Expand your bubble a bit.
  7. Meditate - Take 2 hours out of your day, plant your butt on a couch and stay there for the 2 hours just being silent. You will be surprised at the things that come up and the insights you gain in just that time.
  8. Reconnect with Great Friends - Send someone a message of Gratitude, share your true feelings with someone or write someone you’ve missed talking to.
  9. Exiting your Comfort Zone - What can you do today that you’ve avoided so far? What would actually get your life ahead? You know what this is. Do it.
  10. Finding Better People to surround yourself with - Take the first step in creating friendships that push you to be your best self. You can find these people in groups with common interests. After that it’s all about engaging with them.
  11. Decluttering your Life - Clean out clothes in your closet, trash papers you do not need and find a place for everything still lying about. If you do not have a place for everything, build it.
  12. Declutter your Mind - Write a To-Do list and put every little thing you still need to do on there. Empty your mind out completely. It won’t be as much as you think it will.
  13. Creating a Goal - Why do you do what you do? Why do you work so hard? Why do you want to be more productive? What is it all for?
  14. Making an Inspirational or Motivational Playlist - Ideally without lyrics. Nostalgia works great here too.
  15. Develop a New Skill - Be it a language, instrument or something else entirely. Spend 5, 15, 30, or 60 Minutes a day on this. Whatever you can spare.
  16. Invest in yourself - Spend a slightly uncomfortable amount of money on your own improvement. Buy a course, purchase a ticket to a Seminar or get yourself an audio book subscription.
