Federal Bank to re-appoint Shyam Srinivasan
• Federal Bank has received approval from the RBI to re-appoint Shyam Srinivasan as its MD and CEO for three years.
• Srinivasan took charge as MD and CEO of the lender on September 23, 2010.
• He had joined Federal Bank with the experience of over 20 years with leading multinational banks in India, Middle East and South East Asia.
Assam govt to create new department
• The Assam govt has decided to create a new department to protect the culture and practices of people belonging to tribal and other indigenous communities.
• It would ensure that the state's indigenous population gets to preserve their faith and traditions, while also providing requisite support to them.
• It will be an independent dept, which will solely focus on faith and culture preservation.

GI-certified Fazil mango shipped to Bahrain
• India has expanded its footprint of mango exports to newer countries.
• A consignment of Geographical Identification (GI) certified Fazil mango variety sourced from the Malda district of West Bengal was exported to Bahrain on 10 July 2021.
• This shipment comes a few days after a mango promotion programme was held at Doha, Qatar where nine varieties of mangoes were displayed.
KVIC secures trademark registrations in Bhutan
• The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has secured trademark registrations in Bhutan, UAE, and Mexico.
• Apart from these countries, KVIC’s trademark applications are pending in 40 countries across the world that include the USA, Sri Lanka, etc.
• So far, it was having registrations for the word mark “KHADI” in six countries namely Germany, UK, Australia, Russia, China, and the EU.

215th anniversary of Sepoy Clash commemorated
• The 215th anniversary of the Sepoy Clash was commemorated at Vellore Fort on 10 July 2021.
• In the year 1806, on the 10th of July, Indian sepoys protested against the British Raj and clashed with them.
• Some British soldiers and 900 Indian soldiers were killed in retaliation.
• This was the first instance that gave rise to Sepoy mutiny in India.

EU hits its target of delivering vaccines
• The European Union has hit its target of delivering enough coronavirus vaccines to cover 70 percent of the adult population.
• The EU joint vaccine purchasing scheme, run by von der Leyen’s European Commission, has delivered 330 million BioNTech-Pfizer shots, 100 million AstraZeneca, 50 million from Moderna, and 20 million Johnson & Johnson shots.

• Central Public Works Department (CPWD) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, will celebrate the 167th year of its glorious service to the nation on 12th July 2021.

Dr P K Warner passes away
. Dr P K Warner, who popularised Ayurveda, passed away in July 2021.
. Decorated with the country's third and fourth highest civilian awards -Padma Bhushan in 2010
and Padma Shri in 1999, Warner was also a freedom fighter.
. Warner is known to have been instrumental in modernising the packaging of Ayurveda
medicines, which were earlier available in the forms of kashayam and choornam.

97 lakh households get tap water supply
• Jal Jeevan Mission has provided tap water supply to more than 97 lakh households in 61 Japanese Encephalitis – Acute Encephalitis Syndrome affected districts.
• The tap water has been supplied to these priority districts in a short span of 22 months.
• Japanese Encephalitis – Acute Encephalitis Syndrome mostly affects children and young adults which can lead to morbidity and mortality.
